To the Citizens of House District 47,

We are writing you today to share our firsthand perspective on the leadership and character of Representative Carter Nordman.

Our roles on the Iowa GOP State Central Committee do not allow us to give Republican primary endorsements, but they do not prevent us from telling the citizens of Guthrie, Greene, and NW Dallas Counties what kind of leader you have in Carter Nordman.

Working alongside Carter in the Statehouse, we have witnessed his impeccable integrity and strong work ethic.

When it comes to standing up for conservative values, we know we can always count on Carter to take the hard votes. He stood shoulder-to-shoulder with us on every property rights bill brought before the House. We have personally seen that Carter Nordman has been on the side of property owners since the day he was sworn in. He understands that property rights are fundamental to our liberty and consistently fights to stop government overreach. Carter has frequently reached out to ask us what more can be done to win this fight for property owners and exchange ideas and approaches, and that is a fact that the citizens of District 47 need to know.

Politics often rewards the easy path, but Carter chooses the right path, even when it’s hard. Carter’s effectiveness as a leader in the Iowa House, and the trust he has created through his dedicated service, are exemplified in the fact that he was named Chair of the House Ways & Means Committee, one of the most important committees in the entire Legislature.

We hold Carter Nordman in the highest regard. Iowa’s own Herbert Hoover once said, “Being a politician is a poor profession. Being a public servant is a noble one.” We are grateful that we serve with a public servant named Carter Nordman.

Respectfully,

Steve Holt, House Judiciary Chairman

Charley Thomson, House Oversight Chairman
